Sister Patricia Pepitone
Sister Patricia Pepitone, RSM
Sister Patricia Pepitone, RSM, fondly known as “Sister Pat,” is a Sister of Mercy who resides in Denver, N.C. She represents St. Mary’s legacy sponsors, the Sisters of Mercy, on the Trinity Health of Georgia Board.
Sister Pat began her career of service as a special education and regular classroom teacher for 12 years, teaching at St. Gabriel’s School, Our Lady of Assumption, and St. Patrick’s School, all in Charlotte, N.C., and also at St. Mary’s School in Wilmington, N.C.
She went on to serve as a principal for 21 years, first at Asheville Catholic School in Asheville, N.C., and then at St. John the Evangelist School in Pensacola, Fla. She was a pastoral associate for one year at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, N.C., a vocation minister for 10 years, and now serves as a Sister Life Minister for the Sisters of Mercy.
A Sister Life Minister is part of the Sisters of Mercy Leadership Team. The responsibility of a Sister Life Minister is to oversee the life needs of the Sisters she is assigned during her time in office. Life needs include housing, finances, health, spiritual care, and anything else to ensure a Sister is able to do ministry and live safely. Each Sister Life Minister is assigned 40-60 Sisters. Sister Pat oversees Sisters throughout North Carolina, Oklahoma, Maryland, Rhode Island and Guam.
Sister Pat received a bachelor’s degree in special education from Sacred Heart College in Belmont, N.C., and a master’s degree in education administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
