Robert E. “Ed” Ridgway III is an attorney with Ridgway Law in Hartwell, Ga. After graduating with honors from Presbyterian College in 1998, Ed obtained his juris doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2001 where he graduated cum laude. He began his practice as an associate with the law firm of Burr & Forman, LLP in its Atlanta office. In 2003, he and his wife, Darlington Ridgway, returned to his hometown so Ed could practice law with his father, Robert E. Ridgway, Jr. The law firm specializes in Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Estate Planning, and Estate Settlement.

Since moving to Hartwell, Ed has been actively involved in a variety of community and charitable organizations. He is a past president of the Hartwell Kiwanis Club and has served on its board of directors. Through Kiwanis, Ed volunteers his time to various projects including the Hart County Imagination Library, Elementary School Reading Program, and an annual Lake Hartwell Clean-Up. He is also in charge of special events for this calendar year. In 2005, he was elected to the Hart County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where he served as its chairman in 2006. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the City of Hartwell Recreation Authority.

Ed is an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. He also volunteers by coaching youth basketball for the Hartwell First Methodist Church. He enjoys traveling, cooking, golf, and live music.
