About this event

Eating Competence: How to Eat, A Group Coaching Class Class Takes Place Tuesdays, and meets from 12-1 PM for six weeks

If you have struggled with dieting in the past and feel food is an uphill battle, this class is for you. Eating Competency teaches participants to feed themselves reliably and enjoy eating. Competent eaters tend to have better health outcomes, are more active, sleep better, have improved lab tests, and are more self-aware and accepting. The How to Eat method is based on the clinically validated Eating Competence model for adults.

This 6-week course consists of six live virtual coaching sessions, a workbook, a journal, an eating competence survey, and a 30-minute individual review of your survey results with Registered Dietitian Kathryn Filipiak, RDN, LD. Participants receive a 2-month membership to St. Mary’s Wellness Center, and individual memberships may be continued at just $30/month thereafter.

Cost: $499/individual, $750/couple
(This course may be eligible for Health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Account reimbursement with a letter of medical necessity from your physician. Please check with your provider.)

This is a Virtual class, the instructor will reach out to you with information regarding how to attend, and how/where to access the meeting software.

This 6-week group coaching class is taught by Eating Competence certified Registered Dietitian, Kathryn Filipiak, RDN, LD. You will learn how early childhood and social influences can impact how we eat and learn about the four characteristics of competent eaters: Eating Attitudes, Food Acceptance, Regulation of Food Intake and Eating Context. We will discuss basic human needs, Satter's Hierarchy of Food Needs and why food restriction always ends up making us feel out of balance in our weight loss journey.
