Safety and Well-Being
Your safety is our top priority. That’s why we are taking extra steps, exceeding standards, and continuing to find new and innovative ways to keep you safe. Quality and safety are cornerstones of our care.
It’s important that you do not postpone care that you need to get healthy and stay well. St. Mary's Health Care System is taking a thoughtful and careful approach to resuming all surgeries and procedures while minimizing COVID-19 related risks for you, other patients, and caregivers. We continue to be informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local guidelines.
Steps We're Taking to Help Keep You Safe
Screening & Testing
Every person who enters our facilities gets a temperature and symptom screening. That includes patients here for elective procedures and anyone staying overnight. If a patient tests positive, the procedure will be postponed, unless urgent. It’s precautionary processes like these that keep all of us safer.
Required Masking
For everyone's safety, all staff, patients and visitors are required to wear masks at all times in our facilities. For good reasons. And if you don't have a mask, don't worry. We'll gladly provide you one.
COVID-Free Zones
Making sure all our patients are safely cared for is our highest priority. That’s why we've created COVID-Free Zones, where we provide care only for people not known to have COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms, in our facilities.
Social Distancing
Social distancing is still one of the best ways to slow the spread of COVID-19. And we're all about it. In fact, we've made these changes to our processes and facilities to create even more safe space for you and us.
Limited Visitors
Flattening the curve and stunting the spread of COVID-19 means reducing contact with others whenever possible. That's why we continue to limit visitors from our facilities. We make only a few exceptions for certain circumstances and compassionate care.
Enhanced Cleaning
For your safety, we've increased the frequency and intensity of our facility cleaning, being sure to follow the CDC's new COVID-19 guidelines. We're using robust disinfecting processes and paying special attention to frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs and counters.
Virtual Care
There’s never been a better time to try virtual care. And we have lots of convenient options for you to consider, including video and over-the-phone appointments. Learn about each and start getting care from almost anywhere.
