Dr. Diana Blake joins St. Mary's Internal Medicine Associates

Athens, Ga. – December 5, 2023 – Dr. Diana Blake, a board-certified primary care physician, joined St. Mary’s Internal Medicine Associates (SIMA) effective Monday, Dec. 4 and is now accepting new patient appointments.

Dr. Blake comes to SIMA from Baptist Health Palumbo Clinic in Lexington, Ky. Previous clinical experience includes providing primary care at Novant Health First Charlotte Physicians Epicenter in Charlotte, N.C., and Moses Cone Internal Medicine Residency Program in Greensboro, N.C.

A strong believer in community service, she has extensive experience as a medical volunteer in Vietnam, Cambodia and Peru, as well as with service organizations in Greenville, N.C., and Philadelphia.

At SIMA, Dr. Blake will provide adult wellness and routine follow-up care for a wide range of conditions, as well as treating acute care needs. As a provider within the SIMA team, she will work to create relationships with patients that promote trust and open communication, regardless of whether the patient has an ordinary cold or a complex chronic condition.

Dr. Blake earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a minor in business management from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She went on to earn a master’s degree in biology from Drexel University in Philadelphia, before earning her medical degree from Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. She earned a second master’s degree, this time in business administration, from Wake Forest University in Charlotte. She is fluent in English and also speaks Vietnamese at a basic level.

St. Mary’s Internal Medicine Associates recently moved to a larger suite in order to accommodate the practice’s growth. SIMA is still located in Oconee County at 2470 Daniells Bridge Road, Building 200, but has moved to Suite 231. As part of St. Mary's Medical Group, SIMA accepts most major insurance plans and Medicare and offers virtual visits for certain provider appointments.
