Dr. Mokedi, St. Mary's Primary Care PhysicianAthens, Ga. August 1, 2024Dr. Enakeno Mokedi, a primary care physician who is board-certified in family medicine, will join St. Mary’s Primary Care (SMPC), formerly known as Johnson and Murthy Family Practice, on Aug. 5. She is now accepting new patients, with same-day or next-day appointments available in many cases on and after her start date.

Dr. Mokedi comes to SMPC and St. Mary’s Medical Group from Tidelands Health at Myrtle Beach, a primary care practice affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Emory University and her medical degree from St. George’s University, after which she completed her three-year family medicine residency with Tidelands Health MUSC.

I strive to create a partnership with my patients which, in turn, encourages them to be an active participant in developing their care plan,” Dr. Mokedi said. “I look forward to building lifelong relationships with my patients."

She joins longtime Athens area physicians Dr. Farris Johnson and Dr. Vasu Murthy. As a family medicine practice, SMPC provides comprehensive preventative care, diagnostics, and treatment for adult and pediatric patients with acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) health issues, ranging from annual wellness visits to simple illness sick visits to collaborative management of complex conditions in conjunction with specialists. Dr. Mokedi will see patients aged 10 and over with a special interest in weight loss management.
