College Student Volunteer Opportunities in Athens, GA
St. Mary’s Health Care System offers a College Student Volunteer Program designed for students pursuing healthcare-related careers. Our program provides supervised, hands-on experience to help fulfill admission or graduation requirements.

College Student Volunteer Opportunites with St. Mary's
Many college students seeking degrees in health care professions must complete volunteer assignments in their field as a requirement for graduation or for admission to educational programs. At St. Mary’s, we are pleased to work with these students to the maximum extent possible. Instead of allowing shadowing or observing, we offer volunteer opportunities that provide students with supervised, real-world experience as they work to meet admission or graduation requirements. Orientation sessions are held at the beginning of the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
St. Mary's College volunteer applicants will fill out an online application. To be considered for volunteer placement, you must have a current TB skin test result (current means within the last 12 months – no exceptions). You must also provide immunization records showing 2 MMR vaccinations. If you do not provide these items then you will not be considered. A background check will also be required.
If you are awarded a volunteer spot, you must plan to volunteer 3-4 hours per shift, per week on a set schedule. You will also need to attend our in-person Orientation/training.
