In case you missed it...

February is widely recognized as American Heart Month, a time when individuals and organizations come together to raise awareness of heart disease and promote cardiovascular health. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. However, the good news is that many forms of heart disease are preventable with simple lifestyle changes and early detection. The month provides an opportunity to learn about the risk factors for heart disease and take steps to improve heart health.

February was designated as American Heart Month in 1963 to raise awareness about the leading cause of death in the United States: heart disease. Heart disease includes a variety of different conditions, all of which negatively affect how well the heart functions. Luckily, for the most part, heart disease is preventable.

Here's a recap of the blog posts we published during Heart Month. Enjoy!

Early Heart Attack Care

Heart attacks are the leading cause of death in adults in the United States. Heart attacks can also happen more than once to a person. Almost 50% of Americans do not know the signs of a heart attack and may not recognize the early stages of a heart attack in themselves or others.
