Effective May 5, 2023

We are now pleased to loosen mask requirements in most care settings for patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers. This decision was made in collaboration with leadership across the medical staff and other clinical areas.

General Guidelines

  • Visiting hours are 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM each day.
  • Visitors are permitted at this time.
  • Please be respectful of the patient’s need for rest and privacy.
  • 1 visitor may stay overnight in the patient’s room when capacity permits.
  • Visitors are permitted in the Café and all waiting areas.
  • Visitors may accompany a surgical patient at admission and can wait in the surgical
    services waiting room after the patient is taken for their procedure.
  • Covid-19 patients are permitted 1 visitor at a time.
    • The visitor must check in at the nurses’ station before entering the patient
      room and are expected to wear protective equipment.

Children

  • Children should be age 12 or above to visit. Special exceptions may apply.
  • The hospital care team may determine at any time that children cannot visit, depending
    on the individual patient’s situation.
  • Family Birth Center siblings (of any age) may visit during regular visiting hours.

Center for Rehabilitative Medicine - Athens

  • In Athens and located on the 5th floor
  • Visiting hours are:

    • Monday-Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
    • Saturday: 12:30 PM – 7:00 PM
    • Sunday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
    • If a visitor is disruptive to patient care or disruptive to the roommate, they
      will be asked to leave the premises.

Visitor Education and Infection Control

  • Visitors are asked to be healthy with no symptoms of illness.
  • Please recognize signage at the entrance related to the symptoms of COVID including whom
    to notify if they develop symptoms.
  • Follow respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette (e.g., covering mouth and nose with a
    disposable tissue when coughing or sneezing) in the event the individual develops
    respiratory symptoms while visiting the facility.
  • Visitors will be provided personal protective equipment when visiting a patient on
    isolation precautions.
  • Visitors are encouraged to park in the front parking lot
    in front of the fountain. Parking
    is
    free.
  • Visitors arriving outside of general visiting hours
    should enter and exit through the
    Emergency
    Center.
