Bariatric Surgery Orientation
For people interested in learning more about bariatric (weight loss) surgery, join the Bariatric Surgery Informational Session on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital (1230 Baxter St. Athens, Ga.), Assembly Room A.
Pre-Bariatric Surgery Nutrition Class
The purpose of this class is to learn about the pre- and postoperative bariatric surgery diets, micronutrient supplementation regimen, and nutritional complications. You must have attended your initial visit with the bariatric dietitian before attending this class. Class is held the 4th Tuesday of every month, 4:15-5:15 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital, Assembly Rooms, 1230 Baxter Street, Athens, 30606.
Bariatric Surgery Support Group
Informational presentations, discussions, and community support before and after bariatric surgery. Open to all of Dr. Aaron Carr’s/St. Mary’s Athens Hospital’s bariatric surgery program patients (past and present). Meet in the Assembly Rooms at St. Mary’s Athens Hospital - 1230 Baxter Street, Athens, GA 30606. The group meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Weight Loss Support Group
This support group is dietitian led, for anyone interested in non-surgical weight loss. Held on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 5:30-6:30 pm at St. Mary’s Hospital Assembly Room, 1230 Baxter Street, Athens, 30606
